Don’t settle for the usual ho-hum look! Think oval frames, mats and glass; multiple mats, v-grooves, reverse bevels, hand carved mats, inlays, spacers, stacked frames, fillets and multi-angle frames. At the shop you’ll always find the most up to date framing ideas, mat colors and textures, plus over 800 moulding choices to give you that special look you’ve been wanting.
Quality work and preservation are very important here, all work gets the “white glove” treatment, so that every customer ends up with a wonderful heirloom to take home.
Woodworking at Karen Gast Photography involves custom shaped parts, repair to old frames and solutions for hanging antique and large heavy frames. Strainer bars for canvas stretching cut to any size, from a few inches to very large with braces, different widths are also available.
Does your frame have ornaments broken or missing? These can be replaced by making a mold and producing a new plaster ornament to match the missing one.
Multi-sided frames can be designed and cut, along with the glass and mats, for decorative projects.
TIP: Ask for archival mats and UV glass when having your work framed. Archival mats are not the same as acid free, which is a lower grade of matboard. Archival matboard does not leave a brown acid burn stain from the bevel edge on your art or framing project!
UV glass is worth the small extra cost because it stops 97% of the UV rays that cause fading in any light. |
